After 18 years, the ANS Physics of Reactors Topical Meeting is returning to downtown Knoxville, hosted by the ANS Oak Ridge/Knoxville Local Section. The technical program will meet the high standards of recent PHYSOR meetings (incl. Vancouver 2006; Interlaken 2008; Pittsburgh 2010), including timely and relevant special topics. Students will be included in ALL events and activities. Exciting workshops and technical tours (as per our theme) will be offered. Full Papers are solicited in 16 broad tracks (click for details). Reactor physics topic areas include: Reactor analysis methods, Fuel and reactor core designs, Fuel cycle physics, Neutronics calculations and experiments, Research reactors and spallation sources, Advances in reactor materials, Education in reactor physics, Reactor kinetics, safety analysis, multiphysics simulations, Fukushima Dai-ichi: One Year Later.

Knoxville is a scenic city on the Tennessee River, between the beautiful Smoky Mountains and the Cumberland Plateau. Knoxville is easily accessible by air or car. April, during the annual Dogwood Arts Festival, is a most beautiful time of year to visit Knoxville. Guest and attendee activities during PHYSOR will include both downtown and outdoor fun and adventures. The Knoxville area (including nearby Oak Ridge) is a center of nuclear research, nuclear education, and nuclear industry.
